Remember the times when that channel used to be full of good shows, such as Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and the original Powerpuff Girls? Well, things have changed in the 21st century, in which us old-time fans as well as the latest generation of children aren't so lucky with how CN had changed mostly for the worse, in terms of business practices. To make it sadder, it used to be one of the most popular channels on television. Here are the reasons:
  • Killing Off Solid Cartoons
    • It saddens us that shows that have received positive reactions have either gotten very little consideration by the channel or ended too soon, despite what the fans want. Take Regular Show as an example. On the week of its finale, there was very little promotion, like no marathons whatsoever (There were unrelated movies instead). Yet, it is the bad shows that recieve marathons and all the other huge promotions, just because they seemed "more popular and profitable" than the good ones. See this video here: [link] In the meantime, Pokemon and Sonic Boom, two more hit shows, are no longer being aired on CN either. So feel free to blame the kids for accepting the bad shows.
  • Alleged Homophobia
    • Surely, we've all heard of the highly successful Steven Universe, which has been praised for being the first kids' show to embrace the concept of LGBT, particularly with the Gems like Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, etc. fusing together through dancing. This however, is the reason why CN censored the show in the UK, with one example being Pearl and Rose Quartz's suggestive dance being removed (See the video: [link]), as a poor attempt to make the show "more kid-friendly." Moreover, unlike other shows, Steven Universe has not aired that often, leaving CN's attitudes towards this show in question, as of present day.
  • The Scandal of Skyler Page
    • As we should know, Sklyer was the creator of the cartoon Clarence and one of the writers of Adventure Time. However, if middling reviews for Clarence wasn't enough, he was reported by Cartoon Brew for committing sexual harassment (specifically, groping women in extreme lengths, especially Emily Partridge, a female co-writer: twitter.com/mareodomo/status/4…), out of mental illness. As a result, CN had no choice but to fire Page, and Spencer Rothbell took place as director of his show, which will end after its third and final season.
    • Eventually, it was revealed that Page had not contributed much at all in making his show, leading to the backlash of his co-writers. And after getting fired, he was sent to the hospital to get his mental illness (possibly schizophrenia) treated, though his chances of recovery are uncertain.
    • Regardless, mental illnesses are no excuse for sexually abusive behavior, period.

  • Hiring Kyle A. Carrozza
    • Now, this might have sounded like a good thing at first, considering his artistic talent and great fan art, but the truth is, he was also responsible for writing the storyboards for the widely-panned Fanboy and Chum Chum (Nick), and now turning his once-promising show Mighty Magiswords (CN) into a mediocre mess. Specifically, he managed to butcher his show by adding those awkward-looking weapons to the plot, and using run-of-the-mill computer animation instead of the hand-drawn, which many have agreed to be more natural and vivid.
    • But it doesn't end here. When a few fans expressed their opinions about his shows or gave suggestions, Kyle got furious and felt as if he was "attacked by grumps," so he either unfriended those people on social media, blocked them, made extremely sarcastic comments, held grudges, and/or even going as far as heckling them and their art, all in a secretive manner. And whenever fans tried making apologies, the artist blindly declined them all. Ironically, he had done all of these as an adult, without CN paying attention after hiring him. In a nutshell, this professional is completely unwilling to accept criticism of any kind, and without remorse, he will lash out towards people who provide constructive comments. So as long as it resumes airing on CN, Mighty Magiswords will serve for some viewers as a reminder of the personal scandals this arrogant artist has pulled.

  • Reboots
    • Sigh, what could possibly go wrong with creating offensive, severely watered-down versions of excellent shows from the old days? Much to our dismay, we are given the Powerpuff Girls (2016), Ben 10 (2017), the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs cartoon (Technically not a reboot, but it is based on an older work) and especially Teen Titans GO, which received the most promotion of them all. Not only were they inferior to their predecessors, relying on memes, unhealthy humor, and such, but they also damaged the way fans, as well as the original creators, view the franchises as a whole. As for PPG '16, Craig McCracken, the creator of the original version, was clearly displeased with how the reboot was made without his favor whatsoever, and the original actors like Tara Strong also felt betrayed when being replaced by a new cast, citing that it was called it "a stab in the heart." Not cool, CN.

    • At least there was a well-done revival of Samurai Jack on Adult Swim.
  • Too Much Dumb Comedy
    • Most of CN's shows nowadays tend to be comedies, like MAD and The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, and sadly, most of these comedies are rather juvenile, yet crude; they involve negative role models, off-putting content [link] , fart jokes [link] , obnoxious songs [link], etc., and even the sexuality with girls whether young or old, which will be explained on the next reason. When one looks at their messages, they do not seem to be good influences in teaching how young children should behave and develop. Sure, there were good comedies like Adventure Time, and The Amazing World of Gumball, but there have been more stinkers than gems overall.
    • Fans who hope to watch character development-driven shows shouldn't expect much.
  • Perversion

    • I can say nothing else about this. Women deserve a bit better.
  • Overindulging a Particular Show
    • There is nothing that could be worse than having Teen Titans Go gaining a fourth season, and even airing on almost every single hour for every day, despite being considered as one of the "worst CN shows in history." Indeed, many can agree that the channel only cares about finances and view count in which they just choose whatever shows they want, without giving a hoot on what the fans want or complain about whatsoever. With this insane practice, CN will keep losing viewers until they change their ways, but seems like that would not happen.

  • Dishonorable Mention: The Steven Universe fandom
    • One fan on Tumblr got bullied for drawing a skinny version of Rose Quartz
    • Several fans harassed a writer of the show to a point where she abandoned her social media
    • Those leaks
So what are your opinions about these reasons? Feel free to comment down below, and I'll be happy to respond.

Hard to say, though I do love Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel.
